How do you know when you’re truly worshipping God? An example of acceptable and unacceptable worship can be found in the Old Testament with Cain and Abel. They both worshipped God and while Abel did as God directed, Cain desired to reinvent worship. 
 
To reinvent worship is to give God what we want to give Him, and then ask Him to bless it! Just as Cain thought he was going to get away with his way of worship, no one who cheats God and is unrepentant gets away with it.
